The '''ballast''' is a block from [[Eureka]]. The heaviness of a ballast can be controlled with a redstone signal. The higher the signal, the lighter it is. Unpowered the ballast can weight down about 15000kg, but in practice they only weigh down about 5400kg due to the ballast's own weight.
Like all Eureka blocks, the ballast does nothing unless the ship it's on also has a [[Ship Helm|ship helm]].
